Capital City African Violet Society, organized in 1952 and affiliated with the African Violet Society of America and the Northern California Council of African Violet Societies, meets at 7:30 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month. The club is devoted exclusively to the raising and propagation of African violets and is related to the Delta Gesneriad and African Violet Society. Meetings feature educational programs and refreshments are served. The club actively seeking new members and guests are welcome.

You are limited only by your imagination as to the fun, adventure, variety, study, and all around good time you can have when you journey into the organized world of begonias. The Joan Coulat - Sacramento Branch of the American Begonia Society is the means for an introduction to the dynamics and fun of begonias. Meetings are held monthly on the third Tuesday (except Feb. and Nov.) at 7:00 p.m. and feature educational programs, seed plant and exchanges, demonstrations, new species presentations, as well as a plant drawing. The group is thrilled to share begonias and begonia talk with anyone new to begonias.

The American Bonsai Association of Sacramento meets at 6:00 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of each month. Meetings are open to the public and almost always include a knowledgeable speaker who is either a club member or a sensei from another area who have received formal training in bonsai. You are welcome to visit the club, attend the numerous hands-on workshops, or join us on our annual bus trip.
Bonsai Club, Sacramento
The art of creating miniaturized trees or developing woody plants shaped like trees and growing them in containers is the focus of the Capital City Bonsai Association. Meetings, scheduled on an irregular basis, provide information on cultivation includes techniques for shaping, watering, and repotting in various styles of containers. Visitors and enthusiasts are always welcome at any meeting. Contact our club president for a list of meeting times.
Bromeliad & Carnivorous Plant Society

The Bromeliads and Carnivorous Plants Society meets at 7:00 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month except in December and January. Our meeting topics include growing and propagation, taxonomy, and information about the natural habitats of these unusual plants. We also bring in guest speakers and occasionally discuss other plant varieties. We hold plant raffles each month and sponsor an annual show and sale in June. The show is non-competitive, and people are encouraged to bring striking and unusual plants to display.

The objective of the members of the Camellia City Porcelain Artists is to become better artists, connoisseurs, and patrons of the fine art of china painting and to further this art by education and displays in public places. Members attend monthly meetings held on the fourth Monday of each month, August through April, at 10:00 a.m., receive the club's monthly newsletter and quarterly state newsletters, and attend local seminars. You are welcome to visit at any of our meetings.

The Sacramento Chrysanthemum Society was formed to help individuals learn procedures for the propagation and cultivation of chrysanthemums, promote a wider interest in the cultivation of this flower, and to encourage the use and display of the beautiful blooms. To enjoy the bonds of fellowship among growers of the chrysanthemum visit one of our meetings on the fourth Thursday in March, April, August, September, and October from 6:00-8:00 PM.

Sacramento Valley Cymbidium Society was formed in 2004. The club meets on the fourth Wednesday of every month except July, August, and December at 7:00 p.m. (doors open at 6:30 p.m. for all meetings). In addition to supporting the Shepard Garden and Art Center spring and fall shows, and hosting their own show and sale in March, the club hosts speaking engagements at garden events and nurseries as a way of introducing people to the wonderful world of growing orchids outdoors. Anyone with an interest in Cymbidium orchids is welcome to attend club meetings.

The American Fuchsia Society is dedicated to the purpose of acquainting flower enthusiasts with the beauty of fuchsias and teaching techniques for growing healthy blooming plants. The Sacramento Branch holds monthly meetings on third Thursdays of the month at 7:00 p.m., except January, July, August, and December. There is often a speaker to present information on various aspects of growing fuchsias. Visitors are always encouraged to come and learn more about growing these beautiful plants in a very social atmosphere.

The Delta Gesneriad and African Violet Society, organized in 1987, is dedicated to African violets and their cousins, including Streptocarpus, Episcia, Achimines, and many other flowering house plants. The group meets on the third Wednesday of the month at 11:00 a.m. Guest speakers or slide programs on the newest cultivars, show and tell, growing advice, hands-on workshops, plants and supplies are available at each meeting. Everyone's welcome! Bring a sack lunch and join in the fun.
Gypsy Traders Antique Club
The Gypsy Traders Antique Club, who meets on the first Tuesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. (except July and August), was founded to promote the studying, collecting and enjoyment of antiques. Sacramento Collective for the Textile Arts celebrates the link between the creative individual and the artwork of textiles. SCTA offers a wide range of programs for practicing artists, collectors, and all who appreciate fiber arts. The group provides textile arts programs each month except December. Sogetsu Ikebana of Sacramento is a class taught by a Master teacher to learn the art and explore the rich tradition of Japanese flower arranging while sharing the joy and inspiration from it. We learn to create unique arrangements for every day use and for special occasions and are introduced to basic and new techniques. Ikebana classes are held on the 2nd Thursday at 9:45 AM (except July and August). Beginners are welcome!
